The Beau Monde at Belle Cafe

The client: Belle Cafe, Lenart

The brief: The then owner, Alen, asked me to create a photographic mural for the back wall of the bar showing Belle Cafe as a dreamland where every guest can become anyone and where everyone is welcome.

The process: A multi-exposure photoshoot on site at the bar. We turned the bar into a studio with appropriate photographic lighting. Two actors, Tomi and Sara, assumed roles as guests and servers in full costume and were photographed in these different guises. The resulting images were then combined during postproduction to create the final artwork.

I am delighted that the mural has become an attraction in and of itself. People come to Belle Cafe especially to see it and, of course, to have a drink!
